HISTORY: Descendants of William Ficklin and wife, Sarah, of King George County, Virginia.: page 1, 5. William Ficklin (II). Born 1718 son of William (i) and Sarah Ficklin, was born in King George about 1728. He settled on a farm on the Rappahannock river, in St. George's parish, Spottsylvania county, near Fredericksburg. This farm adjoinee that of Reverend James Marye, born Rouen, Normandy, d. Fdqsbg, Va., 1967 See pp. 153 and 156, and was probably a part of the battlefield of Fredericksburg. William Ficklin's name appears on the county records from 1759 to 1789. His wife Molly Marye, dau of Rev. Jas. Marye and wife, who was Letitia, dau of Rev. Staige. Molly Ma Marye b. 17 22, d. abt 1759, md 1737, whose name has not been learned, probably died in early life, since she is not mentioned at all in any deed to or from her husband. The date of his death is not known and no record of his will has been found. He had one daughter, concerning whom nothing is known (Slaughter MS.) pp. 156 and 164.

A note by genealogist, John LaPiana, says the family moved to Macias, Maine in 1780. Compare with the Dodge Genealogy, which also states the first two children were born in Ashburnham; the rest of the children born in Nova Scotia with the exception of the youngest, Ebenezer, who was born in Maciah, Maine.
