5120. Daniel Warner , Jr,
BIOGRAPHY: The third generation (in this country) that concerns our family is the name of still antoher Daniel, Jr. This Daniel was thee son of Daniel and Elizabeth Denne. Records show that he was born at Ipswich about 1640-nto long after the arrival of his father's family from England. In order to defferentiate between the two men named Daniel, he was commonly referred to as "Junior". During the year of 1657, at the age of 17, Junior became involved as a witness in a lawsuit. Later he and his brother, John, made a deposition about the sudden death of a horse in1664. Additionally, "the covenant" was taken by Daniel Jr. and his wife Sarah on April 12, 1674. He was pronounced a freeman in September, 1682. He evidently belonged to a Train Band (a militia group) and was referred to as Ensign. Warner Manor, page 14-15 & 21.
BIOGRAPHY: When Daniel Sr. died, "Junior" being the eldest son, received one half of his father's "Pine Swamp Farm" ( which had belonged to Sarah Baker Lumpkin Stone) and the Plum Island property. He also received "the most part" of the house lot. Warner Manor, page 15.
MARRIAGE: "Junior" married Sarah Dane, daughter of John Dane, an influential member of the Witchcraft Jury at Salem, 1692. Warner Manor,page 15.FAMILY: Daniel and Sarah had ten children, all of which were born at Ipswich. Warner Manor, page 15.
DEATH: At the death of Daniel "Junior" on 24 November 1696 (age 56), only five of his ten children were surviving--and two of them were minors. The minor children were assigned gurardians when two of Sarah's brothers wsere appointed as such. John Dane assumed guardianship of John Warn: Philemon Dane was appointed for Mercy Warner. WILL: Daniel's estate, administered by his eldest son, Daniel III, was inventoried at over 527 pounds. Warner Manor, page 15.
5121. Sarah Dane
DEATH: Sarah Dane Warner survived "Junior's death by five or six years and was cared for by Daniel III. She died three days following Christmas, 28 December 1701 at Ipswich, Massachusetts. Both she and Daniel are buried at Ipswich. Warner Manor, Page 15.
