My name is Harold and I have tutored hundreds of students in math and science over the past 25 years. I worked in the BYU Math Lab to pay my way through college where I earned an MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in mathematics. I have even published a book on using C for numerical analysis currently used by several universities.
AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Physics, and Pre-AP Pre-Calculus are my specialties. I love teaching students that really want to learn but are either behind or are not connecting with their teachers. Math can be easy when you understand the key concepts. I tutor all levels of math beginning with pre-algebra through 2nd year calculus, including the math and science sections of AP, ACT, SAT, GED, TAKS, THEA (TSI) and ASVAB.
My teaching style enables the student to discover the answer (Socratic). I show multiple ways to solve the same problem, then how to verify the answer as being correct. This is the difference between a 'B' student and an 'A' student. I also believe in teaching how the covered math concepts apply to our everyday lives.
I am setup for remote tutoring using LogMeIn and Skype. I work with WyzAnt as an independent contractor to find new students to teach.
